    High-Deductible Medigap Plan G

Get comprehensive Plan G coverage with significantly lower monthly premiums in exchange for meeting an annual deductible.

    How High-Deductible Plan G Works

High-Deductible Plan G is identical to standard Plan G in terms of coverage, but with one key difference:

Before Meeting the Deductible ($2,870 in 2025):

    • You pay 100% of Medicare-approved costs out-of-pocket
    • This includes Part A and Part B deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments
    • Your spending counts toward the $2,870 deductible

    After Meeting the Deductible:

    • Plan G benefits kick in for the rest of the calendar year
    • Covers Part A coinsurance and hospital costs
    • Covers Part B copays and coinsurance (100%)
    • Covers Part B excess charges
    • Covers foreign travel emergency care

Note: The deductible resets every January 1st.

    Key Considerations

    Deductible Increases Annually

The High-Deductible Plan G deductible is adjusted each year based on Medicare trends. It was $2,800 in 2024 and $2,870 in 2025.

    Guaranteed Issue Rights Apply

You can enroll in High-Deductible Plan G during your Medigap Open Enrollment Period or if you have guaranteed issue rights, just like standard Plan G.

Not the Same as High-Deductible Plan F

High-Deductible Plan F (closed to new enrollees after January 1, 2020) has a similar structure but different deductible amounts. If you're newly eligible for Medicare, only High-Deductible Plan G is available.
